Funeral services for James Alton Crockett, 78, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 26, 2016 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Road Monroe, LA with Rev. Lindle Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in the New Light Baptist Church Cemetery Monroe, LA.

Mr. Crockett was born on January 21, 1938 and died on May 23, 2016. He was a huge New Orleans Saints and LSU Tiger Fan. Mr. Crockett served in the United States Army and is preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Harriett Thompson Crockett and by his sister Louise McDowell.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Jane Armfield Crockett; son, John Alan Crockett and wife, Jennifer Lyn Humphries Crockett; grandchildren, John Michael Crockett and Crystal Lyn Crockett Murphy and husband, Jordan.

Pallbearers will be John Michael Crockett, Jordan Murphy, Carl Parker, Paul Gammill, Braxton Humphries, and Danny McDowell. Honorary Pallbearers will be S.J. Fontana and Richard Smith.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Road Monroe, LA.

Memorials may be made to the New Light Baptist Church 2477 Prairie Raod Monroe, LA 71202.
