Henry Meldron Dixon, Jr. (Mel), 64, of Hinesville, GA died Wednesday the 18th of September 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital Savannah, GA. A celebration of Mel's life will be held 2 PM – 4 PM, Saturday the 21st of September 2013 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.

Mr. Dixon is a native of Brunswick, GA born the 8th of June 1949 to Henry M. Dixon, Sr. and Christine Owens Dixon, and had been a resident of Liberty County for the past 30 years. He was a graduate of Glynn Academy and retired from his family owned business.

Mel was a man of many talents especially when it comes to music. His talent in music led him to learning to play so many different instruments that he loved so much. He was an avid science fiction reader, Bridge player, and Atlanta Braves fan.

Survivors include his children Henry Meldron Dixon. III and wife Jeni of Statesboro, GA and Heather Brin Dixon of Palm Bay , FL; a grandson Brady Thomas Dixon, of Statesboro, GA; his parents Henry M. Dixon, Sr.., and Christine Owens Dixon of Hinesville, GA; two brothers Gary Gene Dixon of West Palm Beach, FL; and Don Alan Dixon of Atlanta, GA; three nephews Don Alan Dixon, Jr. , Jeremy R. Dixon both of Atlanta, GA; and Gary Alan Dixon of Key West FL; and many other relatives.
