John C. Horsley was the son of Theophius T. Horsley and M. Jane (MNU) Horsley. He married Elizabeth Wharton

John C Horsley served in the Civil War. He was a private in Company G 38th Regiment in the infantry for the Confederate Army. According to onfederate records he was captured at Missionary Ridge near Nashville, Tennessee under command of Major General George H Thomas commanding Dept. Cumberland and forwarded to Captain S E Jones Provost Marshal at Louisville, Kentucky December 9, 1863. Roll Dated Headquarters Dept.
