James T. “J. T.” Pace, 91, passed away Monday, May 23, 2016. He was born in Jacksonville and lived on the same road his entire life. Mr. Pace proudly served his country in the US Army during World War II in the Philippines. He was a member of Gardenview Baptist Church where he had serviced as a deacon. Mr. Pace was retired from the City of Jacksonville and also the Jacksonville Port Authority. Mr. Pace was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, June Pace, in 2011 and a sister, Carlee Jackson. His surviving family includes: his daughter, Diane Pace; 2 sons, Joel Pace and Richard (Lorrie) Pace; a brother, Leonard Pace; three grandchildren, Christopher Pace, Lauren Johnson and Logan Richards and a great granddaughter, Layla. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 25th from 4:30 PM until 6:30 PM at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Ave. Mr. Pace will be laid to rest beside his wife in Alachua, FL after a private family graveside service.
