John Hughes, a former resident of this county, died at his home in Iowa on Thursday September 1st, at an advanced age. The funeral occurred on Friday, the 2nd. He was sick but five days. Mr. Hughes married a sister of Jacob M. St. John of this city, and was a brother of Melton Hughes, who resides near Whiteland. He was a estimable gentleman and a good citizen.
