William Garvie was born May 9, 1887 in Industry, Clay County, Kansas to John and Sabina Wolf Garvie. William Garvie married to Ethel Minnie Finnley by Wayne Mettler, Pastor of the M. E. Church in Mooreland, Woodward County Oklahoma in the presence of James Finley of Mooreland, Oklahoma and Katie Finley of Mooreland, Oklahoma on January 24, 1909. They had four children, two girls and two boys.
Mr. and Mrs. William Garvie To Observe Golden Wedding--Mr. and Mrs. Will Garvie of Mooreland will be hosts to all of their friends at Open House, at their home in Mooreland, Sunday, January 25 between 2:00 and 4:00 o'clock P.M. to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.
There will be no invitations sent but the couple is inviting all of their fiends, relatives and acquaintances to drop in.
William was found on census in Oklahoma and he was graudian of his younger siblings after his parents death.

William Garvie Dies, Funeral Held Wednesday--
Final rites were held Wednesday for William Garvie who died Sunday at Mooreland Hospital, following an extended illness. Rev. R. J. Blair, pastor of the Mooreland Assembly of God Church afficiated at the funeral service which was held at the Assembly of God Church. Knittel Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. Burial was made at the Brown or Union Cemetery, Quinlan.
William Garvie, son of John and Sabina Wolf Garvie was born May 9, 1887 at Industry, Kansas. he passed thid life at 11:37 p.m. February 7, 1960 at the age of 72 years, 9 months and 28 days.
He spent his early days in Kansas, and in 1900 he moved with his family to Oklahoma. The family settled southeast of Quinlan.
In 1909, he was untied in marriage with Ethel Minnie Finley. To this union was born four children. One son, Kenneth preceded him in death.
In 1923 he was converted and affiliated himself with the Assembly of God. He was a licensed minister of his church. He lived a consistent christian life from then on. He was a faithful husband, loving father, and a friend to all who knew him.
He remained patient even though he suffered intensely during the past several years.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Ethel of the home, one son Glenn of Alva; two daughters, Gladys Hartzell of Smolan, Kansas; and Laverne Gingrich of Alva; He also leaves three brothers, John and Isaac both of Quinlan, and Bud of Woodward; fifteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
