Updated 2023: William Curtis Hughes "Willie" and aka "Curtis" Hughes was the son of Thomas N. and Mary Ann Cummings of Ashland, N.H. In 1850 he was living with his parents in Ashland and was age 14.
Willie C. Hughes and Gara Etta Stevens were married October 30, 1875 in Lowell Massachusetts. Gara was the dughter of Gordon Webster Stevens and wife Maria/Marietta and was living in Plymouth at the time of the marriage.. Gara "Garie" aka Etta lived with her grandmother Sarah T. (Draper) Stevens) in Plymouth New Hampshire when she was young after her parents died. (Her grandmother is Memorial 135703234.)
Gara Etta and William had a daughter Mary Louise who died as a child.
I'm not positive he died in Kansas, could find no record. He and his brother Edwin went West and Willie was sick with consumption. The last place they show up together in the census was in Kansas 1880.
