The BOWDEN-Hodges home was located at 213 N. Second Street, Wilmington, NC, where the 1910 census lists Carrie BOWDEN and her husband, William HODGES, her niece, Emma BOWDEN, age 13, orphaned daughter of Carrie's brother Whiteford, and thirteen non-relatives, presumably roomers. By 1916, it appears that the family home had been sold and the Bowden-Hodges family was living at 313 North 2nd Street in Wilmington. Some time later they lived at 402 North 2nd Street.
William & Aunt Carrie were lifelong members of Grace Methodist Church, and always gave of themselves unselfishly to any charitable cause. They were highly respected in the community.
