Son of Rev. Henry Robert Field Canham (1851 - 1931) and Emma Maria James (1851 - 1927) who were married on the 4th January 1877 at St Mary's Church, Edge Hill, Lancashire.

1891 Census - Rev. Canham, aged 5, was living with his parents and siblings, in West Road, Bourn, Lincolnshire.

1901 Census - Rev. Canham who would've been 14 or 15, was a pupil at the Royal Asylum of St Anne's Society, Redhill, Reigate, Surrey. The school was a charitable society that provided "education and instruction in religious and useful knowledge agreeable to the formularies of the Church of England, as well as clothing, maintenance, and a home for legitimate children of parents who had seen better days, and have moved in a superior station in life. At this time in the young Rev. Canham's life, his father was in considerable debt, which is probably why he was sent to the Royal Asylum of St Anne's Society.

1911 Census - Rev. Canham was a Theolology student at the college in Burgh le Marsh, Nr Skegness, Lincolnshire.

Rev. Canham married Gwendoline Mabel Malim on the 14th August 1914 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada.

Russell Wentworth Canham 1918 - 1998
Gwendoline Norah Canham Thorpe 1922 - 2011

l'm not sure where Rev. Canham met Gwendoline but l do know that she was a Nanny from Norland College, in London. Their Nannies were sent all over the world to work, alot of them to Europe's Royal families. Gwendoline was working in Inverness, Scotland in 1913. After their marriage the Canham's lived in a small town called Avonlea, in Saskatchewan.

According to the book 'British Nannies & the Great War,' Gwendoline "ministered to her husband's widespread congregation, travelling by horse and stopping overnight with strangers along the way, but Gwendoline was in her element organizing, caring and coping with whatever life threw at her, even after finding a young settler frozen to death in his shack." They returned to England in 1919 and Gwendoline died in 1924 aged 41.

On the 20th July 1927 Rev. Canham married widow Julia Schofield nee Sheldrake at St. John the Baptist's Church, Halifax, West Yorkshire. No known children from this marriage.

Rev. Canham was widowed again in 1959.

Rev. Canham was the Rector at St. John the Baptist's Church, in Brinklow, Warwickshire, from 1944 until he retired in 1958, after which, he moved to the village of Church Lawford, near Rugby, in Warwickshire.
