Flora was the daughter of Jefferson Gentry and Minroa Davis. She married Charlie Hornback in 1870 and the 1900 census shows she has given birth to five children, all living. Their children were James, Della, Millie, Bertha, and Stella.

During the 1930 census, Flora was widowed and living with her daughter Stella, Stella's husband Fred Beeler, and their eight children.

Flora died from influenza and uremic poisoning.
