Age 88, passed away at 4 a.m. Thursday after a long illness. He was born April 3, 1872 in Hammer, Germany. He came to the United States in 1889 and had lived in Appleton for the past 37 years. He was employed at the Consolidated Water Power and Paper Co. from 1923 until his retirement in 1954 at the age of 81. On October 15, 1914 he married the former Eva Boyce of Lena, Wis. Mr. Gesche is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs Daniel J. (Stella) Beach, Appleton; Mrs. Pearl Mongett, Great Falls, Mont.; Mrs. Clara Ard, Portland, Ore.; one son, Chester, Chehalis, Wash.; one brother, Adolph, Miami, Fla,; 8 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Brettschneider Funeral home. Rev. F.C. Reuter officiating. Burial in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Brettschneider Funeral home after 7 p.m. Friday until the hour of the services."
