Van Odell Barker, 77, died March 3, 1977, in a Layton hospital of natural causes.

Born Oct. 20, 1899, Pleasant Grove, to Ethan Allen and Camilla Ellen Christiansen. Married Byram Elizabeth Miller, Sept. 20, 1923. Marriage solemnized in the Salt lake LDS Temple, Sept. 17, 1953. Electrician for Hill Air Force Base for several years. Served as an electrician and stage hand in many Salt Lake theaters. Active in the LDS Church. Served in Bishopric of Layton Sixth Ward. Highest priest in Farmington First LDS Ward at time of death.

Survivors: wife, three sons, Phillip V., Bellevue, Wash.; Richard R., San Diego, Calif.; Robert O., Riverside, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. William R. (Winifred) Nutter, Bountiful; Mrs. Michael S. (Sharon) Larsen, Sandy; Carolyn G. Barker, Sacramento, Calif.; 21 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three sisters, Nida M. Morey, Roseville, Calif.; Camilla G. Baiocchi, Sacramento, Calif.; Claire Anderson, Sacramento, Calif.

Funeral services Saturday, 1 p.m., Farmington First LDS Ward, 272 N. Main St., Farmington. Friends may call Friday, 6-8 p.m., in the Relief Society Room of the ward, and Saturday, one hour before services. Burial, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
