Lena Meggie McCracken LeMay was the wife of John Wesley LeMay whom she married 30 Oct 1907 in Lawrence Co., Tennessee. She was the daughter of Civil War veteran, James Elbert McCracken, and his second wife, Emily Jane Kelly and was only two years old when her father died suddenly in the spring of 1884.

Following their marriage, Lena and John lived on the old McCracken home place near West Point, Tennessee where they resided throughout their life together. They were the parents of one child, a daughter, who died at birth or shortly thereafter.

After Uncle John's death in 1948, Aunt Lena continued to live on the farm until the early 1950's when she moved to Lawrenceburg with her sister, Ella McCracken Slagle, also a widow. Both were growing older and life on a rural Tennessee farm was getting harder to cope with as the years passed.

Lena Meggie was the paternal granddaughter of Calvin and Amanda English McCracken and the maternal granddaughter of James S. and Jane Haile/Hale Kelly.

Ten years after the death of her husband in an automobile accident, Lena LeMay died in Lawrenceburg after a lengthy battle with breast cancer.
