Richard Gail Adkins, 50 years of age of Grundy, VA, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Johnny and Nola (Thacker) Adkins. He was a longtime resident of Buchanan County and worked at Flowerland and worked at a golf course.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2-Sisters: Gay Coleman and Lois Lester; 4-Brothers: Robert Gillespie, Clyde Gillespie, Johnny Ray Adkins, and Jimmy Adkins.
Those left to cherish his memory include his 3-Step-Children: Rebecca (Keith) Stallings, Grundy, VA, Amanda Messer, Connersville, IN, Heather Messer, Connersville, IN: 1-Brother: Charles (Melissa) Adkins, Connersville, IN.
Also, survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Graveside Services for Richard Gail Adkins will be conducted Monday, May 16, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at the Mountain Rest Mausoleum, Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA. With Ronald Lester officiating.
Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Sunday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.
