Joseph E. Gazek, Jr., 83, of Hendersonville, NC, husband of Anna (Dwyer) Gazek, died in Henderson, NC.

He was born in Hillside, NJ, May 29, 1932, son of the late Joseph and Frances (Beechaver) Gazek.
Joseph served in the U.S. Marine Corps and later joined the Connecticut State Police.

Joseph moved to Hendersonville in 1987 after retiring from the Connecticut State attorney's office where he served as chief detective.

In addition to his loving wife of 52 years, Anna (Dwyer) Gazek, he is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside funeral services and burial with military honors will take place on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. in Section 4 of St. Peter Cemetery, 71 Lake Ave., Danbury with Father David W. Franklin, Parochial Vicar of St. Joseph R. C. Church, Danbury officiating.
