Charles Alfred Sheets was the son of John C. and Lovina Barnhart Sheets. He was married to Ethel Rae Lentner on June 18, 1911, in Yeoman, Carroll County, IN. At the time of his marriage, his residence was Delphi, Carroll County, IN, and his occupation was farming.

Charles Alfred Sheets, 79, died in the Lafayette home of a daughter at 11:40 PM Sunday [June 29, 1969], following a ten-year illness. He was born near Cutler and reared in the Fox Den area. He had also lived at Brookston and came to the Lafayette area in 1915. In 1911, he married Ethel Rae Lentner at Yeoman, and she died this past May 15. Mr. Sheets was a retired carpenter and a member of Sharon Chapel EUB Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Paul E. [Opal] Dangel, Mrs. Thurman [Violet] Vice, and Mrs. Joseph [Rosemary] Schroeder, all of Lafayette; one sister, Mrs. Sally Woodruff of West Lafayette; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
