Mary Lynn Barnes, 43, of Bellmont, IL passed away May 12, 2016 at home.

She was born March 20, 1973 in Mount Carmel, the daughter of Richard Parr and Mary Lou (Ellis) Dardeen. She married David “Spike” Barnes on December 23, 1995 and he preceded her in death on March 18, 2015.

Mary worked as a CNA at Shurtleff Manor Nursing Home and was a caregiver in the home health industry. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren held a very special place in her heart. She enjoyed boating, especially on the Ohio River. Mary had a great love for animals. Traveling with her family was her favorite thing to do and her children have very fond memories of the trips they took with their mother. Mary attended the Gospel Kingdom Church. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Mary is survived by two sons, David Tyler (Mackenzie) Barnes and Dylan Lee (Gracie Walker) Barnes all of Mt. Carmel; grandchildren, Reise Nicoal, Beau David and Abel Scott Barnes; parents, Mary Lou and husband Bill Dardeen; brother, William Joseph (Lori) Dardeen; several nieces, nephews and cousins whom she was very fond of; and a special friend John Hardwick.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, David “Spike” Barnes; father, Richard Parr; Maternal grandparents, Bill and Dora Ellis; Paternal grandparents, Ray and Dally Parr.

Funeral Services in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Brother Brandon Hodgson officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
