Don was an Eagle Scout and graduate of Belton high school. He received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Mathematics from Sam Houston State University.
Don was a chief petty officer in the US Coast Guard and a veteran of the Korean war he also played Minor League baseball and was a Saddlebronc rider.
He had a passion not only for his family but for fishing, hunting, antique cars, soccer, and woodworking.
Don is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margie Adkisson his son, Kerry Adkisson; daughter, Lisa Bradshaw; grandchildren, Brittney Bradshaw, Austin Bradshaw, Allyson Adkisson, and Zoe Adkisson; and brother Bobby Adkisson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Jerry Adkisson; mother, Mary Catherine Allie; and brother Jerry Adkisson.
His service will be held Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 4 PM at Forest Park East funeral home.
