It's odd that he has not previously been added to FindAGrave as he was a prominent Attorney and it is unlikely his grave is unmarked. Joseph Eustace Chilton II is his nephew.

Rites Tomorrow for Maj. Chilton. Burial at Teay's Cemetery Will Follow Services At St. Mark's

Funeral arrangements for Maj. Joe E. Chilton, 81, prominent lawyer and member of a pioneer Kanawha valley family, who died at his home at St. Albans Sunday morning, were being completed last night.
The Rev. Lynne B. Mead, rector of St. Mark's Episcopal church at St. Albans, will officiate at the services at the church tomorrow morning at 10:30 o'clock. Interment will be in Teays Hill cemetery.

Additional honorary pallbearers named yesterday were William H. Sawyers of Hinton, J. C. Buskirk and Walter Thurmond of Logan, J. C. Myers of Boone county, Mennes Ketchum of Wayne, Lis Hawkins, Charles Love, Federal Judge George W. McClintie, John Laing, Judge Samuel V. Woods, Dr. C. A. Ray, and J. O. Myers of Charleston, Lucian Miller, Cap Teass and Hallard Hard of St. Albans, John C. Blackwood of Sattes, Clarence Watson of Fairmont and R. C. Andrews of Clendenin. Maj. Chilton was a leader in Democratic circles and widely known for his connection with the industrial expansion of the valley. At the age of 21 he was prosecuting attorney of Lincoln county.
