October 9, 1883, Miss Carrie Remerscheed was united in marriage to George W. Dodd of Prairie Grove, at the home of the bride's parents in Burlington. On October 8, 1933, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Ryerson delightfully entertained thirty of their friends to a pot luck dinner in honor of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Dodd's golden wedding anniversary. Those sharing the courtesy were: Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bierma and daughter, Miss Rose DeLong, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Dutton and family, Mr. and Mrs. Charley Fitzgerald and son, Arthur, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Andrews, Mr. and Mrs. John Vandermey and children, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Pressly and son, Lester Pressly of Osceola, Mr. and Mrs. Edd Ryerson, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. W. Dodd, Mr. John Stevens and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Dodd of Des Moines. The afternoon diversion was a mock wedding and listening to Mr. Dodd tell of the early history of Prairie Grove.
