Mr. Abbey, a native of Jackson, Mich., had lived in North Augusta for 24 years. He was a retired Army staff sergeant. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and American Legion Post No. 71.
Survivors include his wife, Betty L. Abbey; his mother, Bernice L. Abbey, Jackson; three sons, Harold K. Abbey, North Augusta, Gary L. Abbey, Riverside, Calif., and Dale R. Abbey, Niagara Falls, N.Y.; a daughter, Tera L. Mathis, Belvedere; three sisters, Jean Tultki and Joyce Sitko, both of Jackson, and Betty Holloway, Adrian, Mich.; a brother, Jerald R. Abbey, North Augusta; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be members of the military.
