Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 10, 2008, 5 PM at Northside Baptist Church, 800 Jefferson Street, Lafayette, LA 70501, for Louis "Snook" Castille, age 92, who passed away on May 8, 2008 at his residence.

Mr. Castille was born October 4, 1915, in Lafayette, LA. He was the owner of Castille Marble and Granite Works est. 1946. He was a supporter of UL women's softball. Snook's family and friends will remember him for his love of sharing the fruits of his labors, especially muscadine wine, vegetables, corn meal, and grits. His wood-working talents left many treasures to those who he loved. His love, kindness, generosity, and "joie de vivre" will live forever in our hearts. He was a friend to all.

Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife of 53 years Irene Barras Castille; three sons Bobby Castille and his wife Peggy, Carol Castille and fiancé Sandra Foutz , Ricky Castille and his wife Theresa; three daughters Becki Johnson and husband Bob, Daisy Castille and companion Bill Granger, Annette Guidry and companion Wynn Carbo; sister Margaret Bienvenu; 23 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Claude and Dozina Castille, two sisters Marva Gallagher and Verna Mae Leroy; three daughters Martha Castille, Charlene Dupuis, and Linda Sexton; one grandson Shannon Castille, and one great-granddaughter Brooklyn Picard

The family wishes to express a special thanks to the staff at Lafayette General Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospice and the staff at Kinchen Funeral Home.
