A graduate of the Webb School in Bell Buckle, TN; attended Rhodes College; served in WWII in Italy with the Army Air Corps and for over twenty years in the Air Force Reserve retiring as Lieutenant-Colonel; post-war he worked at Union Planters Bank, Manhattan Branch, retiring in 1962 as Vice-President, Trust Division; lived at his family farm near Eads.
