Gary Wade Finley, Sr., 74 of Toney, Alabama died on Monday, May 9, 2016, at Huntsville Hospital.
Born Wednesday, June 11, 1941 in Fayetteville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Gordon Wayne Finley and the late Goldia Irene Baker Finley. He was a member of the Alabama Racing Pioneers Association. He was a local stock car racing legend, being both a driver and builder. He was a multi-track champion. He was a loved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Surviving are his wife: Dorothy Glassco Finley, of Toney, AL, son, Gary Wade (Misty) Finley, Jr. of Toney, AL, daughter, Dee Dee (David) Gilbert of Harvest, AL, sister, Janie (Pee Wee) Beverly of Ardmore, TN, grandchildren: Katie (John) Oliver of Belfast, TN, Shasta Finley, Casey Finley, Garrett Finley, and Austin Finley all of Toney, AL, and Nicole Gilbert of Harvest, AL, and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Jeff Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Charity Cemetery, Hazel Green, AL.
