Mary C. (Clemens) Gross, 99, of Souderton, PA, formerly of Towamencin Twp., PA died on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Peter Becker Community, Harleysville, PA.

She was the loving wife of the late Hiram L. Gross for 42 years. Mary was born in Mainland, PA to the late John C. and Susan B. (Stauffer) Clemens.

She graduated from the Towamencin School, Kulpsville, PA. Mary was employed as a Plant Worker for Hatfield Quality Meats, Hatfield, PA. She was a charter member of Calvary Church, Souderton. During her years of service she was a member of the church choir, served on various committees, taught Sunday School classes and was a member of the Sewing Circle and library committee. In her later years she was part of the Women's Prayer Circle and was a faithful prayer warrior for the church and her family, whom she prayed for daily by name. Mary was an avid reader on her Kindle and enjoyed watching game shows on TV. She loved cooking and was known for her Funny Cakes and Fastnachts. Mary also compiled Susie's Cookbook, a collection of the Clemens family recipes.

She is survived by: 2 Sons, Hiram L. "Bud" (Carol) Gross of Harleysville, David Lee (Linda) Gross of Souderton; 3 Daughters, Patricia Ann (Leon) Alderfer of Houston, TX, Betty Lou (Robert) Godshall of New Albany, PA, Mary Lynne (Duane) Nice of Souderton; 13 Grandchildren; 24 Great-Grandchildren; 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren; Brother, Lester S. (Kathryn) Clemens of Sellersville; Sister, Betty S. Bradford of Lansdale.

She was preceded in death by: Grandchild, Jon Randall Alderfer; Great-Grandchild, Kalyn Hope Loux; 4 Brothers, Claude S., John S., Abram S., and Ezra S. Clemens; 3 Sisters, Miriam S. Souder, Susie S. Landes, and Hannah S. Stetler; 3 Infant brothers and 1 Infant sister.

A Viewing will be held on Monday, May 16, 2016 at Calvary Church 820 Souderton Road (Route 113), Souderton, Pennsylvania 18964 from 9:00 am - 10:30 am with the service immediately following.

Burial will take place at Calvary Church Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Church Missions Fund at the address above.
