Nathanial Mark Sanders, age 89, of Elwood, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital. He was born on December 19, 1926, in Niles, MI, the son of Oren and Adah (Gill) Sanders.
Mark retired from Guide Lamp Corp. on March 1, 1993 after 40 years of service. On July 2, 1966 Mark married Margie Cline Reckner and they would have celebrated their 50th anniversary this year. When Mark was younger he enjoyed square dancing and playing the harmonica. Mark and his wife also enjoyed traveling and traveled to all 50 states.
Mark's family includes his wife, of nearly 50 years, Margie, 6 children, Rick (Nancy) Sanders of Kokomo, Larry (Debbie) Sanders of Kokomo, Bruce (Kathy) Sanders of Elwood, Sandi Reckner (Rick) Gordon of Elwood, Bill (Jan) Reckner of Markleville, Susan Reckner Petty of Elwood, 8 Grandchildren, Ashley (Michael) Hiland, Caleb Sanders, Rachel Sanders, Brooklyn (Aaron) John, Patrick (Cynthia) Gordon, Craig Watson, Alyssa (Jonathan) Kummick, Tom (Danylle) Petty, 12 Great Grandchildren, Sophia, Nick, and Olivia John, Ava Hiland, Nolan Greybeal, Kelsey (Matt) Brankle, Tyler Gordon, Morgan Gaber, Conner and Emma Kummick, Cora and Owen Petty. Also, a Great-Great Granddaughter, Amilla Grace Brankle to born in June. Sister, Martha Harless of Kokomo, Sister in law, Delores Sanders of Elwood, several nieces and nephews.
Mark was preceded in death by his Parents, sisters, Ruth Sanders, Gladys Becker, Faye McGuire, brother, Cle Sanders, brother in laws, Lloyd Becker and Don Harless.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, May 13, 2016, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood. There will be no services, entombment will be held at the Elwood Mausoleum
