Alfred W. Vick was paymaster of the Atlantic Coast Line in Savannah GA. He began his employment in 1896 as a junior clerk. He was transferred to Savannah in 1907, and had seen continuous service with the railroad from that date until his death. Mr. Vick received recognition by the ACL for his long service with the railroad on July 6, 1947, when he was honored at ceremonies at which he received a gold emblem with a diamond setting commemorating over 50 years with the railroad. He was 71 years of age at the time of his death and in his fifty-sixth year of service with the ACL railroad. (Savannah Morning News)
Alfred was visiting a friend in Wilmington, NC when he passed away. His wife Edith preceded him in death October 10, 1948. Alfred and Edith are at rest with their son in Bonaventure Cemetery.
