MRS. JOE CRITES DIES

The remains of Mrs. Joe Crites, who died of influenza at Cushing, Oklahoma last Wednesday were brought back here Friday for burial. Mrs. Crites was a former resident of this vicinity, and is survived by four sons, Loid, Leonard and Donnell of Ellsinore and Clarence of Hendrickson, two daughters, Mrs. Annual (sic - Anuil) Carter of Ellsinore and Mrs. Leslie Cotton of Cushing, Oklahoma. She was buried at the Carson Hill cemetery, Saturday. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Carter.--Ellsinore News.

Her name has been variously spelled Emmerillis, Amaryllis, Emma Ryllis, etc.

Daughter of Jesse Hassell and Mary Rebeccca Carson Hassell.

Siblings were: James Monroe Hassell, Lysander Hassell, Marietta "Mollie" Hassell Boyd, Burton Luther Hassell, Andrew Arthur Hassell, Tony C Hassell, and Clara Hassell.

Married Joseph Solomon Crites and had children: Clarence D, Donnell Edward, Hollis Leonard, Joseph Loid, Flora, Clara Gladys, Beatrice, and an infant born 1903.

She also had son Carl Willis Crites and daughter Lora Sylvester Crites.
