Clifford A Granstaff, 79, Eldon, former conductor on the Rock Island, died Tuesday, April 16, 1974, at Charles E STill Hospital, Jefferson City. Mr Granstaff had lived most of his life in the Eldon Area

He was born Feb. 28, 1895, in Camden County to Arthur and Amanda Sparks Granstaff. He was married March 15, 1923, at Eldon to Bee Gardner, who survives at the home. Mr. Granstaff retired in 1960 after 39 years as a Rock Island conductor. He had worked as a brakeman before becoming a conductor in 1921. He as a member of the Ninth Street Christian Church of Eldon.

Surviving him, in addition to his wife, are a son, Robert (Bob) Granstaff, Drumright, Okla.; a daughter, Mrs. Buenta Bowden, Naperville, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. Pauline Johnson and Mrs. Waltie Snowden, both of New Port Richey, Fla. and Mrs. Dola Ulman, St. Louis; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Granstaff will be held at 1pm. Friday at the phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Walter D. Simpson officiating. Burial will be in the Eldon Cemetery.
