William Alfred Coulsting was born on July 28, 1894, in San Francisco, California. He married Marion Dovin in 1913 and they had 1 daughter Dorothy Coulsting. He worked at the Union of Iron Works located in San Francisco's Historic Pier 70. He joined the Olympic Club and won many boxing tournaments across the country during years 1915-1918, including boxing tournaments at San Francisco PPIE in 1915. In 1918, William Coulsting signed up for the draft of WWI and served in the military. He later worked for Standard Brands and moved to Redondo Beach where he retired. He died on September 29, 1972, in Redondo Beach, California, at the age of 78, and was buried in Whittier, California.
