Wife of Joseph Brown∼Daughter of Adam Broyles, (1717 Colony of Germanna) moved with her father from Virginia to Nolly Chucky in East Tennessee. Wife of Joseph Brown, Grandmother to Civil War Governor Joseph Emerson Brown of Georgia, who was mentioned several times in Margaret Mitchell's "Gone With the Wind". Mother to Joseph's eight children.
Jemima remarried to John Robertson/Robinson in 1816. At the time of her death she lived with her son, Aaron Brown in Lumpkin County, Georgia.
Joseph and Jemima Brown migrated from Washington County to Pendleton District, SC. A few years later they migrated to just across the Tugaloo River in Habersham County, Georgia.

"On this 14th day of December 1846 before me James H Worley [?] an acting Justice of the peace in and for said County and State personally appeared Joseph Williams a resident of Polk County State of Tennessee aged 67 years who after being first duly sworn according to law doth on his oath make the following statement (viz.) That he was personally acquainted with Joseph Brown in his lifetime and his wife Jemima Brown now Jemima Robertson that he first knew them and then Franklin County now Habersham County Georgia in the year 1797 that they had seven children when he first knew them (viz.) Elizabeth, William, Hugh, Aaron, Mary, Ebenezer and McKey, five sons and two daughters and that deponent married their eldest Daughter in October 1799 and that his wife was then 16 years old according to the family record that has been kept by Aaron Brown.
That the said Joseph and Jemima lived together as man and wife to the time of his Joseph Brown's death which took place on 28th October 1800 leaving Jemima as his widow. That they were regarded as legally Husband and Wife in their neighborhood and this deponent fully concurs in that opinion and that the said Joseph Brown was always regarded as a soldier of the Revolution and this deponent verily believes that he was Deponent further states that the said Jemima Brown was intermarried to a man by the name of John Robertson in or about the year 1818 in Franklin County Georgia and that the said Robertson died in Pendleton District South Carolina in the year 1826 leaving the said Jemima again a widow that she removed to Habersham County where she resided 304 years and thence to Lumpkin County Georgia in the year 1835 where she now resides with her son Aaron Brown and that she is the identical person that was the wife and afterwards widow of Joseph Brown Deceased and is now and has remained a widow ever since the death of the said Robertson, and is the identical person that is claiming a pension from the United States for the services of the said Joseph Brown Deceased.
