Married Willard Cassious Guernsey on 30 October 1895 in Salt Lake City, UT. Mother to 4 children: Florence (1898-1900), Martha (1899-1958), Charles W (1901-1976), and Elwood (1904-1978).

OGDEN - Mrs. Mary Winters Guernsey, 78, 2436 Filmore Ave., died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at her home after a long illness.


Mrs. Guernsey was born Feb. 27, 1872 in Montpelier, Idaho, a daughter of Franz and Johanha Larsen Winters. She had attended Bear Lake Academy, Brigham Young College in Logan, and had taught Music in schools in Idaho and Wyoming.


She was married to Willard C. Guernsey in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and had since resided in Ogden. Mr. Guernsey died in 1925 in Ogden.


Surviving are two sons and a daughter: Dr. Charles Guernsey, Ogden; Elwood D. Guernsey, Columbus, OH; and Dr. Martha Colby, Washington, D.C.; two sisters: Mrs. Elizabeth Tueler, and Mrs. Dydia McGregor, Ogden; and two brothers: John C. Winters, Otto, Wyoming; and J.J. Winters, Montpelier, Idaho; and five grandchildren.
