Walter Adlard Dies in Salem
Mr. Walter Adlard passed away on Sunday afternoon June 23, in a convalesent home in Salem, where he has been confined since last Augsut. Mr. Adlard was 85 years of age at the time of death.
He. and his family farmed on Pine Ridge for many years and then moved to Salem where he was employed for a year or so as a guard at the State Penetentiary, then being with the Salem Water Department until his retirement.
Survivors are two sons John of Northern Calif. and Ithyl of Stevenson, Wash. Three sisters Mrs. Stella Myers of Condon, Mrs. Alice Whyte of Pendleton and MRs. Edith Weimer of Denver, Colo.
His wife Lizzie (Burres) and daugther Kathryn, three brothers and five sisters preceded him in death.
Services were held in Salem on Wednesday, July 1, and interment in s Salem cemetery.

Services for Walter Roy Adlard, 85, of 2146 Church St. NE, who died Sunday in a Salem nursing home, will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in W. T. Rigdon Funeral Chapel, Dr. S. Raynor Smith officiating.
Born in corvallis, he lived in the Salem area for the past 47 years. He was a retired pipe fitter with the Salem water department.
Surviving are sons, John R. Adlard, Corte Madera, Calif; and Ithel R. Adlard, Stevenson, Wash.; sisters, Mrs Alice White, Pendleton; Mrs Edith Weimer, Denver, Colo; and Mrs. estella Myers, Condon; two grandchildren.
Interment will be in Belcrest Memorial Park.
