Elizabeth Jane Bowden was born October 13, 1833 in Indiana - the daughter of (unknown) Bowden and Elizabeth Ann Bowden. She migrated to Missouri sometime after the opening up of the Platte Purchase and married Thomas J. Beagle in Buchanan County, MO on Aug. 19, 1852. They had at least two children - a son, Thomas J. Jr., who died in 1864 at just less than three months of age; and Minnie Ola, born 1870, married Isaac Yocam Oct. 25, 1895 in Platte Co, MO, and after his death just six years later married William Clark.

Elizabeth died August 18, 1900 and was buried in the Yocam Cemetery near the Missouri River bluffs a short ways south of the Platte-Buchanan county line.

Elizabeth Jane's mother, Elizabeth Ann Bowden, and son Thomas J. Beagle, Jr. are both buried near her in the Yocam Cemetery.
