Mildred was the 2nd daughter of Walter Austin and LuLu May Payne on Aug. 20th, 1913 in Bellingham, Washington. She attened Bellingham Normal and Watcom High school and moved to Seattle after graduating.
She got a job @ Bartells drug store @ the candy counter, that was where she met an older gentleman who was a Seattle Police officer.. his name was Bruce W. Jordan. He would come by often and talk to her. He treated her with respect and was very polite.
They married in Oct. 1937 in her parents house. Their first son Bruce Wade Jordan was born in Nov. 1939. William Austin and Janice Gayle followed. She and Bruce had a good life and enjoyed parties and night life with their many friends. All that ended when Bruce died suddenly in 1954 and she was left to raise 3 small children, the youngest being only 9.
She did the best she could for her family and always made her children feel loved and valued. When she was 45, she was made a grandmother with the birth of Elizabeth Ann. The happiness was not long lived as she discovered that her grand daughter was in an orphanage in Portland Oregon as her son Bruce and his wife, Ann Katherne were unable to care for the child. She decided she'd care for the child until a suitable home was found. She adopted Elizabeth 4 yrs later, her grand daughter became her daughter. They had a nice life together and spent a lot of time together.
In 1974, a neighbor lady was dying and her poor husband was beside himself as he'd never had to cook for himself and he was lost. Mildred would go visit the woman in the hospital and then go and bring the womans husband good, healthy food. She listened and gave advice to the man, who knew his wife was not going to live. He was angry, confused, scared and he just needed somebody to care. His wife died peacefully in April of 1974. Mildred helped the man and his daughter plan her funeral and she kept cooking for him and inviting him to dinner most nights. Their friendship grew and love blossomed.
Mildred and William Thomas Kehoe were married on Oct. 24th, 1974.They had a good life.. trips to Hawaii, Cruises and LOTS of singing and dancing. William died on April 10th, 2004. Mildreds' mind was starting to drift due to the onset of Alzheimers. The angels came for her on Oct. 15. 2006. Her son, William was holding her hand as she peacefully wound down.. like an old clock. Her son was also holding the hand of his step-father, William and his brother, Bruce when they died. Seems to be his lot in life to ease peoples' exits.
Mildred is survived by her brother, Dr. Wayne W. Austin, son, Willam A. Jordan, a daughter, Janice G. Jordan, daughter Elizabeth J. Myers, and a step_daughter, Mary Ellen Fouts.

Where did the infant go that once was me
Did it dissolve, rearrange itself, flee?
Where is the toddler, creative and free?
I know it is part of my memory.
Yes, my shape has changed
My thoughts, my style,
I was each form – for a very short while.
And then when older, again I changed,
My skin sagged, pounds rearranged.
But my essence, my soul, the part that is mystical
Came from G-D, because I'm His miracle.
I've always been me, different shape, different form
I'm still with you now, there's no need to mourn.
