Frieda Reed, 75, formerly of Route 1, Pontiac, died at 12:30 a.m. today at Meadows Mennonite Home, rural Chenoa, following a lengthy illness.
She was born Sept. 22, 1909, at Colfax, a daughter of William J. and Ruby Huff Leetch.
She attended grade and high schools in Colfax.
She married Russell E. Reed on March 6, 1931, at Pontiac. He died in December 1977.
Surviving are two sons, Homer M., Pontiac, and Roger A., Downs; one daughter, Anita Swamberg, Pontiac; her stepmother, Hazel Leetch, Ontario; five half sisters, Betty Brandtand and Jean Carroll, Bloomington; Cleo Feller, Cissna Park; Shirley Rohrbough, Warsaw; and June Whately, Pontiac; seven grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren.
One sister and one stepsister preceded her in death.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
