On Sunday, May 1, 2016 our beloved father Douglas Dean Jobe left this earth to be with his true love Barbara Sue Jobe. He was born on August 27, 1932 in Hugo, Oklahoma to W.B. and Addie Lee (Williams) Jobe. Throughout his life he enjoyed expressing his creativity through songwriting and poetry. He particularly loved singing songs like "Mona Lisa" and "He Stopped Loving Her Today." He also had a passion for creating beautiful artwork that brought joy to family and friends. Douglas was a brilliant man whose knowledge spanned a variety of subjects.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William B. and Addie Lee (Williams) Jobe; wife, Barbara Sue Jobe; son, Larry Dean Jobe; brothers, Dale Jobe, and Bill Jobe. He leaves cherished memories with daughters, Donna (Joe) Settlemires, Lisa Elkins; sister, Donna Belle Henson, sister-in-law, Brenda Jobe; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
Visitation is Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at Sunny Lane Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2016, at the Sunny Lane Funeral Home Chapel.
