Lou Shawver, 80, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016 in Livingston, Texas. Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Highland Cemetery Pavilion under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016 from 6 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home.
Lou was born October 20, 1935 to Marcus and Jessie (Sherman) Rogers. She married Mack Shawver in December of 1974 and they lived in the Kamay and Iowa Park area during their 25 years of marriage. She worked at the Iowa Park Wal-Mart for 14 years. In 2007, Lou moved to Livingston to be closer to her daughter, though she missed Iowa Park and her friends deeply.
Lou is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lloyd and Dennis; one sister, Violet; and the love of her life, Mack Shawver, Sr. who passed away in March of 2000.
Surviving relatives include her two daughters, Deena Blankenship and her husband, Jimmy of Coldspring, Texas; Balinda Ablia and her husband, Jerald of Wichita Falls, Texas; two sons, Donald Stanford and David Stanford, both of Livingston, Texas; two sisters, Lola Robertson and Sharon Crnolatas, both of Missouri; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and one niece who was like a daughter to her, Vicki Hunsaker and her husband, tom of Pflugerville, Texas; and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
