Beatrice June (Hengst) Heidebrecht, 94, was born January 10, 1922 in Sapulpa, OK to Frankford Berry and Beatrice Lavina (McCrady) Hengst and entered Heaven’s Gates on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at her home in Fort Gibson.
She was raised in Tulsa where she graduated in 1939 with the first graduating class of Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, OK. After graduating she attended business school, earning a degree in computer science/computing machine technician. She applied these skills at AAA, Agricultural Adjustment Act Agency in Stillwater and later for Phillips 66 in Bartlesville, all while assisting her Mother and Aunt Margueritte Kinley in manufacturing firing heads and blasting caps for Mid Continent Torpedo Co. and traveling across the country selling to oil well companies. Additionally, she helped out at oil well fires, where her father and Uncles Myron and Floyd Kinley honed their skills as the first oil well fire fighters. She later began a career as an office manager/legal secretary for a local attorney. She married Clarence Raymond Jennings in March of 1943 and to this union bore four children Judith Suzan, James Ray, Janet Leigh, and Beatrice Jo. In 1991, June married John Harold Heidebrecht, making their home in Tulsa. She traveled extensively and loved the opera. She was a lifelong member of the Christian Science Church and recently joined the Fort Gibson Church of Christ. June loved to sketch all of the clothes she made and was quite the seamstress, having made numerous articles of clothing, quilts, and blankets for her family, as well as professionally. June had inspirations to write a book and was extremely gifted at putting pencil to paper. Many a crossword puzzle was worked on the phone with her son-in-law, Jack. She was always dressed for success and armed with a great sense of humor. But of all the things June enjoyed, she loved her family more than anything. With a flair for entertaining, Thanksgiving and Christmas was always spent at her home in the company of her family. June’s motto for life was Let Go and Let God.
June was preceded in death by her parents, Bea and Frank; brothers, Frankfort William and Laurance Joseph; both husbands and daughter Jude.
