Janie is a daughter of Bertie Lonzo and Ressie May (Maize) Rucker. She graduated from Southeast High School. Janie helped the war effort by working at Pratt and Whitney Dependable Engines making engines for war planes during World War II. She met John Bersuch at a skating rink, they married on August 17, 1946 and have four children: Janet, John Jr, Jeff, and June.

Janie liked to bowl and square dance. She was a member of the "Harpers Hoppers" Square Dance Club. She enjoyed playing the slots in Las Vegas. Janie was active with her family in the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America.

After she raised her children she went back to work at Automotive Distributors, Inc, aka ADI [now Car Quest Automotive], retiring in 1985.

Personal note:
I had the great pleasure of working with this lovely woman for many years. Always a lady.
