Kenneth R. Bauknecht, 73, of Brilliant, formerly of Martins Ferry, died Saturday, March 18, 1995, in East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. He was born Jan. 9, 1922, in Martins Ferry, son of the late John and Mary Anna Davis Bauknecht.

A retired truck driver, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army, World War II; a member of American Legion Post 38 of Martins Ferry and Teamsters Local 428 of Steubenville.

Preceding him in death were five brothers, Alfred, James, Herbert, Russell and Donald Bauknecht.

Surviving are two brothers, Raymond Bauknecht of Dillonvale and Ernest Bauknecht of Portage, Ind., a sister, Nina Mae Bauknecht of Bridgeport.

Friends will be received at the Heslop Funeral Home, Martins Ferry, today, 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Dr. J. Joseph Podolak officiating. Burial follows in Weeks Cemetery, Bridgeport. American Legion Post 38 will hold services Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
