Memorial graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011 at Moon Cemetery, south of Macksburg. Pastor Chuck Spindler will officiate.
Murle Gilmore McKinney, son of Claude Winfield McKinney and Delpha Lela (Main) McKinney, was born Oct. 9, 1921 in Adair County. He was educated in Macksburg schools. He went on to work on the family farm. In 1942, he married Patricia Repplinger. They later divorced. 1n 1965, Murle married Mary Carricallis. Murle worked for the Creston Farmer's Co-op delivering grain and coal. Later, they moved to Des Moines, where Murle worked in maintenance, first for Pioneer Seed and then with Valley High School. His wife Mary died. Murle returned to Creston. He retired in 1983. Murle was a former member of the Creston Eagles Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra (husband Wayne) Tucker of Lorimor, a son, Alan McKinney of Lorimor; a brother, Gale (wife Mary) McKinney of Creston; a sister, Neva Reeve of Lenox; nieces, Darla (wife Bill) Davis of Lamar, Mo. and Tina Reeve of Lenox; nephews, Gailard (wife Dee) Reeve of Des Moines, Larry (wife Joan) Davis of Scranton, Alan Reeve (significant other Katie Temple) of Runnells, Larry McKinney of Creston, Gary (wife Marsha) McKinney of McKinney, Texas, Dan (wife Sharon) McKinney of Orient and Gale (wife Audra) McKinney of Fort Dodge.
Murle was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Cloide and Edward McKinney, his brother, Earl, and two nephews.
