She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hickman and retired executive secretary for the U.S. Selective Service.
She is survived by one brother, Robert Hughes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Lawson Jr., and one sister. Her parents were Bob and Hazel Hughes.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Strong Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Quimby offiiating. Burial will be in Hickman City Cemetery.
