Macon, GA- Louise G. Murkerson, 94, entered her Heavenly Home on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at her residence in Macon, Georgia.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 28, 2016 in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Jim Duggan will officiate. The family will meet friends from 10:00 a.m. to service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bellevue Baptist Church, 5925 Price Road, Macon GA 31220.
Mrs. Murkerson, wife of the late Mitchell T. Murkerson, was born in Rentz, Georgia, the daughter of the late Charles Wallace Grinstead and Ella Mae Myres Grinstead. She was the Valedictorian of her high school class, and in her early years, she helped the war effort in the 1940's by working at the Naval Ordinance plant in Macon. Later, she was a devoted homemaker who loved serving her family and was a loyal member of West Macon Baptist Church and Bellevue Baptist Church where she served her Lord and her church family with a heart of love.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving family, her daughters, Lynn (Larry) Stevens of Marietta and Judi (John) Winters of Birmingham, AL; her beloved grandchildren, Jay (Christy) Stevens of Jacksonville, FL, Keri (Peter) Lurtz of West Palm Beach, FL, Amy (Chris) Garrett of Alabaster, AL and Michael Winters of Villa Rica; six great grandchildren, James Stevens of West Palm Beach, Garrett Stevens of Marietta, Brodie and Emma Garrett of Alabaster and Alexandra and Isabella Lurtz of West Palm Beach.
