COLUMBIA - Graveside services for Evelyn Allen Linder will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 27, in Elmwood Cemetery conducted by The Rev. Dr. James Fraser Lyon IV of The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.
Mrs. Linder, wife of the late George English Linder, Jr., died Saturday, January 24, 2009. Born in Dillon, December 28, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Sen. and Mrs. David Smith (Lila McIntyre) Allen. A graduate of the Winthrop College, she was a retired teacher and a member of Shandon United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her son, George English (Sarah) Linder, III; daughters, Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Martin (Catherine) Conte of Atlanta and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Josiah (Anne) Morse of Columbia; grandchildren, Joseph Allen Conte, Elizabeth Anne Conte, David Josiah Morse, Carol Anne Morse and great-grandchildren, Alexander Josiah Morse and Autumn Leigh Morse; sisters, Mrs. George N. (Mary Jane) Magrath Sr., Mrs. Clarence C. (Dorothy) Lyles, Mrs. James K. (Louise) Ardrey and Mrs. Martin B. (Wiggie) Jones, Jr.
