Shirley was born 17 September 1948 to Peter Sorochan (Two Hills) and Stephanie Szach (Lopton Poland). Her siblings were: Gloria, Wayne, Linda and Maryanne.. She attended Fulton Place, Hardisty, Victoria and McNally schools in Edmonton. After graduation in 1966 she worked for A.G.T.(a job she truly loved). She was married to Jerry (Hans Juergen) Groneberg in 1968. They had two daughters, Corinne and Christine. She and Jerry purchased a home in Victoria, B.C. (and looked forward to one day retiring there). The family moved to Victoria in 1984. Shirley was most delighted to see the tulips, that she had planted the fall before, sprout and bloom before she passed away.
