My Mom was the definition of unconditional love. She was born on the 4th of July, 1941 on the Bell Family farm and she was a firecracker. Her real Father was Lewis Allen Reid, but at the age of 9 she was adopted by Willian Maxey Denton an abusive alcoholic. Her Grandmother, Betty Opal Bell raised her until she was 9 years old after Lavern Bell Denton abandoned her as an infant. All of my friends called her Momma Lou. She was a very talented quilter, she loved working in her flower beds. After my Father passed away in 1979 she ran the family business until she retired in 2001. In the 1980s Mom taught ballroom waltzing and country and western line dances.

As she got older she became a puzzle book fan and she read at least one book every week, horror books. She also loved scary movies. Her favorite novelist, Connie Suttle dedicated her book Raven Red to Mom after her death.

Mom was an animal lover and fostered homeless dogs for the humane society and also donated quilts with the money given to Pets and People Humane Society. She had 5 beloved pets during her life: Tiger Lee (cat), and her dogs Pandora, Ebony, Lacey and is survived by Amelia. I'm taking care of Amelia now.

I will always miss my Mom.
