WOUND KILLS WIFE SLAYER
Wilson Is Suicide; Divorce Quarrel Blamed.
Owens Wilson, 37 year-old Negro, died in Epworth hospital shortly before 3:30 p.m. Thursday of .22 caliber bullet wound in his forehead that was self-inflicted. His death occurred about four hours after he shot and killed his wife, Bessie, 36, and wounded their 16-month old daughter, Edith Louise, in the rear yard of their home at 912 Napier street.
Mr. Wilson was born in Cassopolis, Mich., July 17, 1907, and came here two years ago from Cassopolis. The body will be in the Woolridge funeral home until 5 p.m. today when it will be sent to the Connelly funeral home, Cassopolis, for funeral services which will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Bethel church, Calvin township, Cass county, Rev. Mose Anderson, officiating. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Luevicia Wilson, of Calvin township; his four children; the stepson, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Pearl Coker, Mrs. Beulah Duffield, Mrs. Etta Belle Coker, Isaac, Alex and Storis Wilson, all of Cassopolis, and Mrs. Ardella Phillips and Mrs. Elizabeth Curtis, South Bend.
