Graveside services for Joseph Coleman "Cole" Wier, 25, of Lovington, NM will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Tatum Cemetery in Tatum, NM. Officiating will be Bro. Wayne Brazil. Arrangements are under the direction of Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home. Cole was born in Lovington on August 2, 1990 to Steve and Theresa Ann (Alders) Wier and passed away on April 23, 2016 in Lovington. Cole's dad actually delivered him at the farm. Cole was working for S & J Cattle Company at the time of his death, in Monument, NM. He and his new bride Tympe, were living on the ranch in Monument. Cole grew up on a farm and graduated from high school here and enjoyed FFA during his school years. He loved horses and riding and cowboying was his hobby and his livelihood. He enjoyed collecting bits and spurs and was good at leather working. He was meticulous and always did a job right, never halfway. He was humble, quiet and gentle and liked to tease his family, especially his sisters. You knew right away Cole was a Christian when you talked to him. His great joy in life was Tympe. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Theresa, his Alder grandparents and his grandad Wier. He is survived by his Dad, Steve Wier and his fiancée, Debbie Ayala of Lovington, three brothers: Shad and wife Desiree Wier, Clay Wier and Dee Wier, all of Lovington, NM and two sisters: Jackie and husband Jerome Blanchette of Oregon and Rachel and husband Damon Mellard of Marfa, TX, his grandmother Mildred Wier of Lovington and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
NOTE: Cole and his wife Tympe were killed in a head on accident by a young man who was speeding and also didn't stop at a stop sign.
