Wilma Dean Ickes, 92, of Montpelier, IN, passed away at 1:31 PM on Friday, April 22, 2016 at her residence in Montpelier, IN. She was born on Sunday, November 11, 1923, in Blackford County, IN. She married Kenneth E. Ickes on Saturday, July 19, 1941 in Pennville, IN. Wilma Dean was a past member of Grace Baptist Church. She had wintered in Inverness FL. for 20 years. She had worked for J.J. Newberry Dept. Store in Hartford City, Minnie Cook's Restaurant in Montpelier, Ferguson Canning Factory in Hartford City, and retired from Blackford County Schools. She enjoyed crocheting, boating, camping, and riding motorcycles.

Loving Survivors Include: Son - John H. Ickes, Montpelier, IN., Daughters - Nelva Forrester (Phil) Rogers, Hartford City, IN., Kay (Larry) Kershner, Montpelier, IN., Sue (Wayne) Felton, Brookville, IN., Sister - Judith M. (Roger) Willmann, Dunkirk, IN., 12 Grandchildren, 32 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Father - John D. Crockett, Mother - Edith Elvina (Furniss) Crockett,

Husband - Kenneth E. Ickes, Sister - Eula Bee Alexander, Son in law- Terry Forrester, Grandson- Rodney Forrester, and Great Grandson- Tyler Forrester.



Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Monday, April 25, 2016 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.



A service to celebrate Wilma Dean’s life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 with the Minister John Hannum officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Montpelier.
